Executive Profile

Farzam has lived in Japan since 1989 and speaks fluent English and Japanese, in addition to his native Persian and Turkish. He started his career at Iran Airlines as a cadet pilot, completed a degree in Avionics (Aviation Electronics) and worked for Iran Airlines for 10 years. He then moved to Tokyo to attend a Japanese language school and joined the workforce in Japan. He is a naturalized Japanese citizen.

Business experience: In Japan, Farzam has worked at Gateway Computers, Dimension Data (now an NTT group company), and Netmarks (one of Japan's largest network integrators). He held positions as a Sales Director at the first two companies and was the General Manager at Netmarks. During his career, he managed large sales and support teams with annual sales targets of up to US$ 100 million. He negotiated numerous multi-million dollar projects and oversaw their delivery, installation and implementation, and looked after sales support for those projects. In 2008 Farzam founded a recruiting and outsourcing company, which specializes in IT field human resources, partnering with technology and enterprise companies to provide their important human capital.

Training experience: Throughout his career Farzam has overseen hiring and on-the-job training of hundreds of sales and technical personnel, being closely involved in their professional development. His on-the-job training included the areas of sales, negotiation, presentation, effective communication, management, and operation skills for Sales Managers reporting to him. Farzam became an independent trainer from 2013, cooperating with local and global training companies for the facilitation of various training courses. Farzam's versatility as a trainer can be attributed to his experience in sales, managing sales teams and in general management, especially in the IT industry. He has managed multinational/multicultural teams from North & South America, Europe, Asia Pacific and Middle East. He has extensive experience negotiating and managing deals with manufacturers, vendors and clients across APAC, giving him a rich background and practical experience in navigating, training and selling across cultures. Farzam's special area of interest and expertise are in the field of Sales Optimization and Intercultural Studies, in which he has been trained by the University of British Colombia (UBC).
